ACADEMIC DEGREES IN RETAIL MERCHANDISING

Bachelor of Science Degree in Retail Merchandising

The retail merchandising program offers a wide range of educational and career opportunities, including visits to international retailers, travel to foreign and domestic retail centers, and professional experiences such as study abroad and internships with national and international retailers. Program graduates begin their careers in store or corporate environments. Entry-level positions include merchandising, marketing, product development, distribution, store management, buying, advertising, sales promotion, and human resources.

Undergraduate Minor in Retail Merchandising

Graduate Degrees with an Emphasis in Apparel
Graduate study in DHA with an emphasis in apparel advances both theoretical knowledge and applications for textile and apparel products related to human behavior.  Students may focus on design, aesthetics, apparel product development, material culture, historic dress, social science aspects of dress, consumer behavior, and merchandising.  Upon completion of the graduate degree, students are prepared for teaching and research positions as well as other careers within the textile and apparel industry.
